"For the 2nd time this season, a Scorpions
pitcher has thrown a no-hitter! This time,
it was done by lefty hurler Timmy Conroy
(Arlington, MA) down in the AAU
Showcase Tournament at ESPN Wide World of
Sports in Orlando, FL. The
Scorpions were selected to play in this
exclusive tournament in the 14U age bracket
along with only 11 other teams nationally.
They ended up the tournament going 3-3, with
two of their losses coming to Jacksonville
Royals Blue and White teams who met in the
finals, with White winning it all. The
Scorpions lost to Royals White in 8 innings
in a great game that finished after midnight
on the Atlanta Braves Spring Training
Stadium.
Timmy Conroy lead the Scorpions to a 10-0
victory over the Indiana Pony Express down
in Orlando, giving up no hits, walking 5 and
striking out 9. He also went 2-3 at the
plate with 2 doubles. Another great pitching
performance for the Scorpions against some
of the best AAU competition in the country!" |
